Former Skeletal Family and Batfish Boys guitarist Johnny Burman joined the Loved Ones in 1988

Burman knew the band through his association with Loved Ones bass player Kevin Phillips, who had acted as a roadie for some of the Batfish Boys gigs.

It was originally intended that Burman would take on the role of gutarist for the band, replacing Ryan who had turned his attention back to Beautiful again.

In the event, although Burman cut a demo with the band at the Denmark Street studio, and performed at some of the London dates, his gothic style never quite gelled with the glam metal of the band, resulting in Ryan maintaining his links with the Loved Ones.

There is no explaination for his departure from the band, but by 1990 Ray Jeffries had replaced both Burman and Ryan as guitarist.
